Mother Nature played a major role today in Long Beach with heavy rain cancelling the American Le Mans Series qualifying session.
Due to the cancellation, the starting grid has been determined by the points standings, meaning the Muscle Milk Pickett Racing P1 squad of Lucas Luhr and Klaus Graf will start second overall with the PC team of Memo Gidley and Mike Guasch starting fifth in the PC class.
In the end, the day was a near wash out after rain also hampered the one and only practice session in the morning. However, it did allow the team to gather important data in wet conditions. But, on the flip side, with the forecast calling for sunshine on race day, both the P1 and PC crews will be entering the race with many unknown factors when the green flag falls, making for what should be an interesting race.
The American Le Mans Series at Long Beach race goes green on Saturday, April 14th at 4:30 pm PT and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
