Factory Trackmagic Kart driver and Grand-Am Rolex Series star Memo Gidley, once again grabbed the pole in qualifying for Race #3 of the Pro Kart Challenge Series race this past weekend at Infineon Raceway. In an intense 7-minute qualifying session that saw the top 4 drivers go back and forth, Gidley edged out series point leader, Jacob Neal, by .013 of a second.
Rolex Grand-Am series star and Muscle Milk extreme athlete Memo Gidley came away from Round #4 of the 2009 DJSA Outlaw PWC Series Race Tour with a win and the points lead this past weekend in the Super 800 Stand-up class.
Coming off a pair of competitive 5th- and 7th-place finishes in Rounds Two and Three of the 2009 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, the Doran Racing / McDonald’s team just missed scoring a top-10 finish in Round Four of the 2009 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, the Verizon Festival of Speed at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Persevering through gearbox and handling issues, the #77 Doran / McDonald’s Doran-Dallara Ford co-driven by Memo Gidley and Brad Jaeger qualified and finish 11th.
With competitive 5th- and 7th-place finishes in Rounds Two and three of the 2009 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, the Doran Racing / McDonald’s team is on form and up to speed heading into this weekend’s Verizon Festival of Speed at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. the very track where Doran co-driver Memo Gidley got his start in racing.
Rolex Grand-Am star and Muscle Milk extreme athlete Memo Gidley showed that his first win earlier this year was no fluke by winning again at Race #3 of the 2009 DJSA Outlaw PWC Series Race Tour held at the Salt Springs Reservoir this past weekend in the Super 800cc class. The overall was won by Memo after his 1st, 4th, and 2nd place heat race finishes that total for the final finishing position.
The Doran Racing / McDonald’s team battled through conditions more suited to jet skis than race cars and scored another top-7 finish at this weekend’s Verizon Wireless 250, round 3 of the 2009 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series.
