Virginia International Raceway represents one of 4 courses that Team Sahlen tested at, after the 2010 race season was concluded. The test, that was held in October of 2010, was a 2 day test.  At this test, Team Sahlen tested all three SpeedSource Built Mazda RX-8s; #42, #43 & #49.  And additionally, all 5 Team Sahlen drivers, Joe Sahlen, Memo Gidley, Joe Nonnamaker, Wayne Nonnamaker & Will Nonnamaker, were present at this test, taking full advantage of the extensive track …Continue reading

Unfortunate yellow denies Team Sahlen podium at Barber

Team Sahlen continued to rise up the ranks of one of the fastest teams in the ROLEX GT ranks. Qualifying further established Team Sahlen as one to watch for, as Wayne Nonnamaker firmly placed the #42 RX-8 4th on the competitive GT grid. Joe Nonnamaker turned in a very solid performance, placing the #43 in 13th place on the grid.

Another double for Gidley

Team Sahlen’s Mazda GT driver and Muscle Milk MEGA athlete, Memo Gidley, is doing what most would consider a little extreme.  This weekend, Memo will be doing double duty by first racing in Round #3 of the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series race, presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16, at the beautiful Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama.  The driving duo of Memo Gidley and Wayne Nonnamaker currently sits 8th in team points after the first two races.

For 2011, the Sahlen family owned Western New York Flash has renewed their partnership with Mazda USA to promote Women’s Soccer.  In 2010, the Flash players were proud to wear the Mazda branding on their jerseys, as the team succeeded in capturing the United Soccer Leagues’ W-League (Women’s League) National Title against a field of 38 teams across North America.
