Gidley begins next stage of recovery

Memo Gidley, driver of the No. 99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Corvette Prototype, begins the next chapter in his recovery effort, having been discharged from Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, Fla. tonight. After undergoing three separate surgeries as a result of an accident in the Rolex 24 At Daytona, Gidley is being medically transported this evening via airplane to northern California where he will continue his recovery and begin his rehabilitation. Official GAINSCO/Stallings Team Update on Memo Gidley

1/26/14: 10:25AM ET: Memo Gidley, driver of the No. 99 GAINSCO/ Bob Stallings Racing Corvette DP, underwent surgical procedures on both his left arm and left leg last night at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, Florida. Gidley also has an unstable fracture in his back which will require additional surgery before he can be released from the hospital. He continues to be evaluated. GAINSCO/Stallings Racing’s Facebook page will have the latest updates from the hospital as they happen.

GAINSCO/Stallings team grabs pole position for 2014 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona

GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing driver Alex Gurney claimed the pole driving the No. 99 GAINSCO Auto Insurance® Corvette Prototype during the 15-minute qualifying session for the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Marking the inaugural event since the merger of GRAND-AM and ALMS, this is the first pole in the new era in sports car racing for the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Series. Gurney drove seven laps during the timed qualifying session, posting his fastest time of 1:38.270 (130.416 mph) in the sixth lap.  …Continue reading
