Memo Gidley, standout racecar driver, shifter kart
champion and pilot of the #77 KODAK Doran Racing Daytona Prototype will
be conducting two Secrets of Speed Indoor Karting Clinics in San
Francisco's leading indoor karting facility, Go-Kart Racer. Known for
the numerous successes in his outdoor schools, this is Memo's first
time passing on his skills to the large and ever expanding indoor kart
racing community.
"This is a great chance for the indoor crowd to learn the techniques that I have learned on my rise to the top," said Gidley. "It will be a chance to work one-on-one with me and my hand picked team of instructors in an information packed full day clinic." "Our first clinic is being held at the Go Kart Racer track in Burlingame, near the San Francisco Airport," states Gidley from his home in nearby Novato, California. "I've wanted to begin doing indoor clinics for sometime now and this is a top facility and a great place for what I know is going to be a successful first step to having Secrets of Speed Indoor Karting Clinics on a regular basis around the country." Memo's writing partner and Indoor Karting Clinic facilitator, Jeff Grist, is also excited to be part of this new program. "The response from the three MG Secrets of Speed books we have worked on together has been amazing!" said Jeff. "And now with this new Secrets of Speed Indoor Karting School, it just takes the idea of the books a step further by now giving people the opportunity to meet Memo and learn his secrets first hand." Memo says students will experience racing line theory discussions, lead follows, track walks, driving and driver analysis and learn the racing attitude for winning. "I personally pick the best go-kart drivers in the country to be my instructors at all of my clinics," continues Gidley. "To me it is very important that all the students get great support and feedback during the entire session and even more important to get this feedback by drivers that are the top kart racers in the country." And an impressive group it is. Instructors include Ron White, Landon Yee, Fritz Leesman and Brett Buckwalter. Each of these talented drivers has years of professional level experience and championships in both in karts and cars. "In a go-kart race, these are some of the drivers that I would fear the most and that is why I chose them to be part of this program, " smiles Gidley. Important Facts: When:
