Join Team Memo in supporting Camp Boggy Creek

Check out this e-mail from Sarah Gurtis, Corporate Development Officer at Camp Boggy Creek:

Greetings my friends!

I had the most wonderful phone call last evening. On my 1 hour ride home (usually a mind numbing parade of satellite radio stations), my cell phone rang and it was Memo Gidley. Nothing could have made me smile more. It has now been six months since his crash during the Rolex 24 At Daytona. He called to give me an update on his recovery and rehabilitation. He was quite honest about the scope of injury and the pain of recovery and how much work still lies ahead. Throughout our conversation I was repeatedly reminded of how closely he can relate to our Campers. They too face horrific surgeries, long recoveries and the uncertainty of outcomes. I was struck even more by the tone of his voice…upbeat, positive, hopeful and engaged…just like our children when they’re here at Camp.

IMSA has stepped up to be a sponsor of our upcoming Camp Boggy Creek Challenge Ride cycling event. With Memo’s permission and encouragement, we have created TEAM MEMO. And…you don’t need to actually ride in the event to become an important part of its success. The link below will take you right to the support page for his team. You are receiving this email because you are already a wonderful camp supporter and asking more is asking a lot. But, if you are able, please consider a contribution and it can certainly be anonymous if you prefer.  I’ll send Memo a copy of this message but not the distribution list so NO pressure. Being a Proud Charity of IMSA means more to us and to our campers than you can know. Thank you!

Love,

Sarah
