Continuing a partnership that goes back two decades, Red Line Oil has announced its sponsorship of the Personal Watercraft, Karting, and Mountain Bike activities of famed racing driver and sportsman Memo Gidley. From Novato, California, Gidley competes in the DJSA Jet Ski racing tour, as well as in selected national shifter kart events as an addition to his renowned auto racing activities.
The Diablo Jet Ski Action (DJSA) series is a five year old personal watercraft racing association based in the California Bay Area. Races take place at lakes and reservoirs in central and northern California, and include some of the biggest names in the PWC racing world, including Gidley – who has also competed in everything from sports car endurance racing to karts and more. His first race with Red Line Oil sponsorship will be Outlaw Series Race #6, Sunday August 28th, at Lake Minden in Nicolaus, California.
“We have been friends with Memo for many years, going back to his days as a driver for the Red Line-sponsored Lynx team in Formula Atlantic as well as for Finlay Motorsports in the Grand Am series,” said Cameron Evans, Red Line Oil’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “When he presented us with the activities he has going with Muscle Milk in personal watercraft and in karting, we knew he should have our clean-burning two-cycle lubricants in his equipment. Memo is a talented athlete, as well as a personable and smart guy that people like to be around. He is a racer’s racer, the type of personality with which we like to be associated.”
Memo Gidley is sponsored by Cytosport, Inc, maker of Muscle Milk and Cytomax sports nutritional products, as well as Marin Bikes, Bell Helmets, Aderholt Racing and Shawn Thomas Automotive.
