Memo will be teamed up with regular co-driver, Brad Jaeger, after the two missed the last event held at the Daytona Speedway two weeks ago.

“I got the good news from Kevin Doran on Tuesday of this week that we would be racing at Barber,” said Gidley.  “I am very excited and happy to be back out working with Kevin, and his team this weekend.  We have been together for a while and it really feels like family… and honestly it felt strange to not be with them at the last race.”

Since his last race at Mid-Ohio, Gidley has been keeping busy as much as possible including racing his Trackmagic shifter kart and the Muscle Milk Kawasaki SXR Jet Ski, testing vintage racecars, training, and even coaching a few young drivers with the Juncos Racing Team in the STAR Mazda Series who just scored their first win last race in Iowa two weeks ago with Memo present.

“It’s been a very busy last couple of months for me with all my racing and driving,” said Gidley.  “I even had some time to do a little driver coaching, which for me, is always fun to be able to help and mentor young drivers and ultimately give back to the sport that I love.  But frankly, as much as I like doing all these other things, nothing really compares to racing the #77 McDonalds car in the Rolex Series.  I love the close competition and the pressure of a race weekend.  Even though I only just recently missed one race, it feels great to be back!”

The Porsche 250 at Barber Motorsports Park is scheduled to take the green flag at 2:00 pm Sunday July 19th. The race will be broadcast at 3pm ET on SPEED TV.
